Baked chocolate halva cheesecake
Chocolate halva cheesecake!!! This is so easy to make and even works for breakfast because it's not that rich (and you can eat whatever you want because it's probably the weekend and you're a grown up.) Give it a go!
Recipe
Baked chocolate halva cheesecake
For the base:
200g plain digestive biscuits
4 tablespoons butter, melted
For the filling:
400g cottage cheese
175g halva
80ml double cream
2 eggs
For the topping:
2 tbsp cocoa powder
50g halva
Directions
Preheat oven to 190C. Butter an 8’’ round loose-base cake tin.
Mix the biscuits and butter together in a food processor, place the mixture in the cake tin then press down to make the base.
Whisk together the ingredients for the filling, adding the eggs one by one. Add the mixture to the base and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave to cool then place in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight.
Before you’re ready to serve, crumble the halva in a bowl and add the cocoa powder. Mix together with a fork and sprinkle on top. Bel hana!
'Bel hana' is a shorter version of 'bel hana wel shefa' which roughly translates to 'with happiness and good health' and the Egyptian way of saying Bon Appetit.
